Why the random number for my weekly update this week you ask? I will explain…
(Warning: Skip this paragraph if wordy run-on sentences about mathematical equations annoy you.)
Since the last weekly update I wrote was update #7.5, this one should be #8, right? Well, the 1/2 power of a number equals the number’s square root, and the square root of 64 is 8…only this weekly update is not the square root of 64, but rather, the square root of -64, and the fact is that a square root of a negative number is not a real number, but is a non-real number that can only be represented by the square root of the absolute value of the number in question times the hypothetical square root of (-1).
(Resume reading now if mathematical equations annoy you.)
OK, so that last paragraph is basically a bunch of pointless mathematical rambling to get to the point that the square root of (-64) kind of equals 8, but is not actually a real number. If that is the case, then this update is kind of weekly update #8, but is not actually a real update.
Yes folks, I don’t have time to write a real weekly update this week, as they take a lot of time, and I am busy working on grad school applications right now. As soon as the grad school applications are done, I will send you all a weekly update and actually tell you what is going on in my life, but for now, I just wanted to send two bits of information your way.
#1: I am right now in the process of applying to USC and UCLA for film school. I also am in the process of applying for a scholarship that would cover approximately half of my tuition at either school. Please be in prayer for me as I continue the applications…that I would do my best and not let my perfectionist tendencies slow down the process of writing the many essays involved in these applications.
#2: I am working at Sodium Entertainment for my internship this fall. When I write my real Weekly Update #8, I will tell you all about my experiences there, but for now, I just wanted to give you guys a link to Sodium’s web page, in case you want to read about the company I’m at.
